(UMDI – UNMONDODITALIANI) A day in Bojano famous for its mozzarella!* Few people know this little city in South West of Italy, but a lot of people say “Aaah” when I say why it’s famous. So, Bojano, is famous for its “mozzarella” and its high mountains, that are around the city, but it is also famous for its history, because it was the great Capital of Samnites people. You’ll start the day with a visit to churches because Bojano is full of them. Then go to the mountains, Miletto and Crocella that belong toBojano la piazza dai giardinetti del monumento ai caduti the Matese mountain range, and finally go to a typical restaurant: but before you have to take part in a festival! We are ready to start our tour after a delicious breakfast at Tiffany bar, or at D’Angelo, or at Gentili ice cream parlour.

Did you like the breakfast?

So, go to the centre of the city where the Cathedral is. It was the Bojano cattedraleresidence of the archbishop. Today archbishop is in Campobasso, but in the old times Bojano was more important of the actual capital of the province and there was, near Saint Erasmo Church, an important Seminary.

Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Bartolomeo, the patron saint of the City and of the Diocese. It was destructed by earthquakes over and over again. Today you can see on its walls, lots of Rodolfo Papa frescos.

It’s fantastic to see a careful picture inside the Cathedral! The go to the mountains to ski or if you don’t like skiing, you can ride a horse or go snowboarding.interno cattedrale di Bojano (Campobasso) in Molise

Interesting shops sell typical souvenirs, so you can buy something to remember this experience. After that you’ll be hungry, so I suggest going to the restaurant to eat typical dishes, like cavatelli, mozzarella and fruffola. The principal ingredients of fruffola including vegetables like potatoes, carrots, beans and stale bread, seasoned with olive oil and local cheese.

Now it’s time four wearing original old dresses to take part in a Ver Sacrum manifestazione storica organizzata dalla fidapa BPW a Bojanofestival that commemorates the birth of Bojano, old Samnites Capital. It’s very amusing!

The name of the festival is Ver Sacrum, and it is organized byguerrieri sanniti a Bojano durante il ver Sacrum Fidpa Business and Professional Women Association. During the festival there are marriages, fights, sacrifices: but don’t worry, they are all theatrical representations!

Reginaldo durante il rodolfo de MoulinsAnother great traditional Festival is Rodolfo de Moulins, who gave his name to this Region, but if you love music, you cannot lose the World Music Project and the Matese Friend Festival!

You can also to walk in the Roma square, under the great, old, plane trees!

Finally, you can go to sleep, but remember this wonderful day!

We are waiting for you in Bojano and in Molise!
