CAMPOBASSO E’ UNA CITTA’ PICCOLA CHE PERMETTE LE RELAZIONI INTERPERSONALI, A DIFFERENZA DI LONDRA DOVE PERO’ C’E’ TUTTO QUELLO CHE PUO’ SERVIRE AD UN GIOVANE DI 28 ANNI. LA SCUOLA INGLESE DA’ UNA PREPARAZIONE MIGLIORE E MIRATA AI PROPRI STUDENTI MENTRE I RAGAZZI CHE ACCEDONO ALLE SCUOLE SUPERIORI, IN ITALIA, A SOLI 14 ANNI SONO TROPPO PICCOLI PER POTER GIA’ PRENDERE UNA DECISIONE SUL FUTURO. GLI ITALIANI PERO’ SONO PIU’ AMICHEVOLI ANCHE SE HANNO UNA VERA E PROPRIA OSSESSIONE PER IL CIBO! UNO SPIRITO LIBERO CHE HA DECISO DI GIRARE IL MONDO MA CHE PER ORA HA L’ITALIA NEL CUORE.

I was born in London. I lived there until I was 7, and then I returned there to study at university when I was 18
How old are you?

What job do you do?
I work as a teacher of English as a foreign language
Which are substantial differences between England and Italy?
There are many differences. Mainly the temperature is warmer and drier in Italy. There are also many differences between the people. In general, the people in Italy are friendlier, but of course this is not always true: it depends on the people. And of course, Italian people are OBSESSED with food!
Do you prefer London or Campobasso?
Both have more of less the same number of advantages and disadvantages
Why?
I like London because there is always something to do. Most people who visit London love it. However, it is not the same to live there. It can be a very expensive place to live. I think London is too big, and Campobasso is too small. I prefer living in a city with about 100,000-500,000 people. Although Campobasso is small, the advantage of this is that it is easier to meet people, and people tend to be friendlier in small towns than in big cities
Do you feel yourself distant of your roots or are you a freee spirit?
I feel like a free spirit, which is why I love doing the job that I do. I have lived in Brazil, Germany, Spain and Italy doing this job, so I am lucky to have this opportunity. However, this is only possible because of my roots and my language. Unfortunately I don't find it so easy to relate to English people, but as I said, this is not always true. I would not like to live in the UK at the moment, but I may change my mind in the future
Which are difference beetwen the Italian education and that English?
In my job I have been able to see some Italian high schools. For me it is strange to see different types of high school (liceo scientifico, classico, etc.) because I think that when students start going to these schools they are too young to know what they want to do with their lives. I don't have any experience of Italian universities, but I have the impression that they are sometimes not as good as ours in the UK, and I think you have to study longer in Italy: a british degree usually lasts 3 years, sometimes 4. Maybe with the EU things have started to change and there may be a standard set throughout Europe. I think it is a good idea for Italian students to take advantage of the Erasmus program and see another place in Europe.
What does it have London that Campobasso doesn't have?
London has a lot of diversity. I think this is a good thing, so we can meet different kinds of people and learn about other ways of living, so we can understand more of the world we live in. Although the Italian food is very good, I also like that the UK has a lot more variation. Typical british food is not so good, but we have food from all around the world, like India, Mexico, China, Japan, etc., not only in London, but everywhere, while in Italy this is only possible in large cities like Rome, Milan, etc.
What does it have Campobasso taht London doesn't have?
Like I said, it's a small town, so the atmosphere is friendlier and there are more opportunities to meet people. In larger cities people are not like this. I think this is true all around the world.
The girl they are more beautifoul English or those Italian?
Italian girls are more beautiful
Will you return to London or do you think about staying live in Italy?
I would like to stay in Italy, but I don't know where. My girlfriend is Spanish and so I have to be in a place that is good for us both, but luckily she likes to travel, too.
